PSALM

Psalm 139:1-6, 13-18

Verse 1. For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
Verse 2. You know when I sit and when I rise; You understand my thoughts from afar.
Verse 3. You search out my path and my lying down; You are aware of all my ways.
Verse 4. Even before a word is on my tongue, You know all about it, O LORD.
Verse 5. You hem me in behind and before; You have laid Your hand upon me.
Verse 6. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
Verse 13. For You formed my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Verse 14. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and I know this very well.
Verse 15. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Verse 16. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all my days were written in Your book and ordained for me before one of them came to be.
Verse 17. How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God, how vast is their sum!
Verse 18. If I were to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand; and when I awake, I am still with You.

Complementary (Track 2)

FIRST READING

Deuteronomy 7:12-26

Verse 12. If you listen to these ordinances and keep them carefully, then the LORD your God will keep His covenant and the loving devotion that He swore to your fathers. Verse 13. He will love you and bless you and multiply you. He will bless the fruit of your womb and the produce of your land— your grain, new wine, and oil, the young of your herds and the lambs of your flocks— in the land that He swore to your fathers to give you. Verse 14. You will be blessed above all peoples; among you there will be no barren man or woman or livestock. Verse 15. And the LORD will remove from you all sickness. He will not lay upon you any of the terrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but He will inflict them on all who hate you. Verse 16. You must destroy all the peoples the LORD your God will deliver to you. Do not look on them with pity. Do not worship their gods, for that will be a snare to you. Verse 17. You may say in your heart, “These nations are greater than we are; how can we drive them out?” Verse 18. But do not be afraid of them. Be sure to remember what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and all Egypt: Verse 19. the great trials that you saw, the signs and wonders, and the mighty hand and outstretched arm by which the LORD your God brought you out. The LORD your God will do the same to all the peoples you now fear. Verse 20. Moreover, the LORD your God will send the hornet against them until even the survivors hiding from you have perished. Verse 21. Do not be terrified by them, for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God. Verse 22. The LORD your God will drive out these nations before you little by little. You will not be enabled to eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals would multiply around you. Verse 23. But the LORD your God will give them over to you and throw them into great confusion, until they are destroyed. Verse 24. He will hand their kings over to you, and you will wipe out their names from under heaven. No one will be able to stand against you; you will annihilate them. Verse 25. You must burn up the images of their gods; do not covet the silver and gold that is on them or take it for yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it; for it is detestable to the LORD your God. Verse 26. And you must not bring any detestable thing into your house, or you, like it, will be set apart for destruction. You are to utterly detest and abhor it, because it is set apart for destruction.

PSALM

Psalm 1

Verse 1. Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers.
Verse 2. But his delight is in the Law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.
Verse 3. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and who prospers in all he does.
Verse 4. Not so the wicked! For they are like chaff driven off by the wind.
Verse 5. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
Verse 6. For the LORD guards the path of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

With him I am sending Onesimus, our faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will tell you about everything here. Verse 10. Jesus, who is called Justus, also sends greetings. These are the only Jews among my fellow workers for the kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me. Verse 12. Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends you greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, so that you may stand mature and fully assured in the full will of God. Greet the brothers in Laodicea, as well as Nympha and the church that meets at her house. Verse 16. After this letter has been read among you, make sure that it is also read in the church of the Laodiceans, and that you in turn read the letter from Laodicea. Verse 17. Tell Archippus: “See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in the Lord.”
