Amos 3:9-4:5
Verse 9. Proclaim to the citadels of Ashdod and to the citadels of Egypt: “Assemble on the mountains of Samaria; see the great unrest in the city and the acts of oppression in her midst.” Verse 10. “For they know not how to do right,” declares the LORD. “They store up violence and destruction in their citadels.” Verse 11. Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: “An enemy will surround the land; he will pull down your strongholds and plunder your citadels.” Verse 12. This is what the LORD says: “As the shepherd snatches from the mouth of the lion two legs or a piece of an ear, so the Israelites dwelling in Samaria will be rescued having just the corner of a bed or the cushion of a couch. Verse 13. Hear and testify against the house of Jacob, declares the Lord GOD, the God of Hosts. Verse 14. On the day I punish Israel for their transgressions, I will visit destruction on the altars of Bethel; the horns of the altar will be cut off, and they will fall to the ground. Verse 15. I will tear down the winter house along with the summer house; the houses of ivory will also perish, and the great houses will come to an end,” Verse 1. Hear this word, you cows of Bashan on Mount Samaria, you women who oppress the poor and crush the needy, who say to your husbands, “Bring us more to drink.” Verse 2. The Lord GOD has sworn by His holiness: “Behold, the days are coming when you will be taken away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks. Verse 3. You will go out through broken walls, each one straight ahead of her, and you will be cast out toward Harmon, ” Verse 4. “Go to Bethel and transgress; rebel even more at Gilgal! Bring your sacrifices every morning, your tithes every three days. Verse 5. Offer leavened bread as a thank offering, and loudly proclaim your freewill offerings. For that is what you children of Israel love to do,”

Job 24:1-8
Verse 1. “Why does the Almighty not reserve times for judgment? Why may those who know Him never see His days? Verse 2. Men move boundary stones; they pasture stolen flocks. Verse 3. They drive away the donkey of the fatherless and take the widow’s ox in pledge. Verse 4. They push the needy off the road and force all the poor of the land into hiding. Verse 5. Indeed, like wild donkeys in the desert, the poor go to work foraging for food; the wasteland is food for their children. Verse 6. They gather fodder in the fields and glean the vineyards of the wicked. Verse 7. Without clothing, they spend the night naked; they have no covering against the cold. Verse 8. Drenched by mountain rains, they huddle against the rocks for want of shelter.

James 2:1-7
Verse 1. My brothers, as you hold out your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, do not show favoritism. Verse 2. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. Verse 3. If you lavish attention on the man in fine clothes and say, “Here is a seat of honor,” but say to the poor man, “You must stand” or “Sit at my feet,” Verse 4. have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Verse 5. Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom He promised those who love Him? Verse 6. But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who oppress you and drag you into court? Verse 7. Are they not the ones who blaspheme the noble name by which you have been called?
