FIRST READING

Daniel 12:1-4

Verse 1. “At that time Michael, the great prince who stands watch over your people, will rise up. There will be a time of distress, the likes of which will not have occurred from the beginning of nations until that time. But at that time your people — everyone whose name is found written in the book — will be delivered. Verse 2. And many who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, but others to shame and everlasting contempt. Verse 3. Then the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever. Verse 4. But you, Daniel, shut up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will roam to and fro, and knowledge will increase.”

PSALM

Psalm 63:1-8

Verse 1. A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah. O God, You are my God. Earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You. My body yearns for You in a dry and weary land without water.
Verse 2. So I have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and glory.
Verse 3. Because Your loving devotion is better than life, my lips will glorify You.
Verse 4. So I will bless You as long as I live; in Your name I will lift my hands.
Verse 5. My soul is satisfied as with the richest of foods; with joyful lips my mouth will praise You.
Verse 6. When I remember You on my bed, I think of You through the watches of the night.
Verse 7. For You are my help; I will sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings.
Verse 8. My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.

SECOND READING

Revelation 3:1-6

Verse 1. “To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of the One who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation for being alive, yet you are dead. Verse 2. Wake up and strengthen what remains, which is about to die; for I have found your deeds incomplete in the sight of My God. Verse 3. Remember, then, what you have received and heard. Keep it and repent. If you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know the hour when I will come upon you. Verse 4. But you do have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their garments, and because they are worthy, they will walk with Me in white. Verse 5. Like them, he who overcomes will be dressed in white. And I will never blot out his name from the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before My Father and His angels. Verse 6. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
