Malachi 3:5-12

Verse 5. “Then I will draw near to you for judgment. Verse 6. “Because I, the LORD, do not change, you descendants of Jacob have not been destroyed. Verse 7. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your land, and the vine in your field will not fail to produce fruit,” says the LORD of Hosts. Verse 12. “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight,” says the LORD of Hosts.

As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. Verse 14. And most of the brothers, confident in the Lord by my chains, now dare more greatly to speak the word without fear. Verse 15. It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. Verse 16. The latter do so in love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. Verse 17. The former, however, preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can add to the distress of my chains. Verse 18. What then is the issue?
