Verse 1. Then the LORD said to Moses, Verse 2. “Tell the Israelites to bring Me an offering. You are to receive My offering from every man whose heart compels him. Verse 3. This is the offering you are to accept from them: gold, silver, and bronze; Verse 4. blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair; Verse 5. ram skins dyed red and fine leather; acacia wood; Verse 6. olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; Verse 7. and onyx stones and gemstones to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. Verse 8. And they are to make a sanctuary for Me, so that I may dwell among them. Verse 9. You must make the tabernacle and design all its furnishings according to the pattern I show you. Verse 10. And they are to construct an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high. Verse 11. Overlay it with pure gold both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it. Verse 12. Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, two rings on one side and two on the other. Set the mercy seat atop the ark and put the Testimony that I will give you into the ark. Verse 22. And I will meet with you there above the mercy seat, between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony; I will speak with you about all that I command you regarding the Israelites.

PSALM

Psalm 20

Verse 1. For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
Verse 2. May He send you help from the sanctuary and sustain you from Zion.
Verse 3. May He remember all your gifts and look favorably on your burnt offerings.
Verse 4. May He give you the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
Verse 5. May we shout for joy at your victory and raise a banner in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your petitions.
Verse 6. Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He answers him from His holy heaven with the saving power of His right hand.
Verse 7. Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
Verse 8. They collapse and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.
Verse 9. O LORD, save the king. Answer us on the day we call.

SECOND READING

1 Corinthians 2:1-10

Verse 1. When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. Verse 2. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Verse 3. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. Verse 4. My message and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, Verse 5. so that your faith would not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power. Verse 6. Among the mature, however, we speak a message of wisdom — but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. Verse 7. No, we speak of the mysterious and hidden wisdom of God, which He destined for our glory before time began. Verse 8. None of the rulers of this age understood it. For if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. Verse 9. Rather, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.” Verse 10. But God has revealed it to us by the Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
