FIRST READING
Acts 3:12-19
Verse 12. And when Peter saw this, he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why are you surprised by this? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? Verse 13. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus. You handed Him over and rejected Him before Pilate, even though he had decided to release Him. Verse 14. You rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. Verse 15. You killed the Author of life, but God raised Him from the dead, and we are witnesses of this fact. Verse 16. By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know has been made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through Him that has given him this complete healing in your presence. Verse 17. And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders. Verse 18. But in this way God has fulfilled what He foretold through all the prophets, saying that His Christ would suffer. Verse 19. Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away,
PSALM
Psalm 4
SECOND READING
1 John 3:1-7
Verse 1. Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Verse 2. Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is. Verse 3. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure. Verse 4. Everyone who practices sin practices lawlessness as well. Indeed, sin is lawlessness. Verse 5. But you know that Christ appeared to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin. Verse 6. No one who remains in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has seen Him or known Him. Verse 7. Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous.

Verse 38. “Why are you troubled,” Jesus asked, “and why do doubts arise in your hearts? Verse 39. Look at My hands and My feet. It is I Myself. Touch Me and see — for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” Verse 40. And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet. Verse 41. While they were still in disbelief because of their joy and amazement, He asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” Verse 42. So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish, Verse 43. and He took it and ate it in front of them. Verse 44. Jesus said to them, “These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.” Verse 45. Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. Verse 46. And He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, Verse 47. and in His name repentance and forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem. Verse 48. You are witnesses of these things.
