Exodus 39:32-43
Verse 32. So all the work for the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting, was completed. The Israelites did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses. Verse 33. Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent with all its furnishings, its clasps, its frames, its crossbars, and its posts and bases; Verse 34. the covering of ram skins dyed red, the covering of fine leather, and the veil of the covering; Verse 35. the ark of the Testimony with its poles and the mercy seat; Verse 36. the table with all its utensils and the Bread of the Presence; Verse 37. the pure gold lampstand with its row of lamps and all its utensils, as well as the oil for the light; Verse 38. the gold altar, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense, and the curtain for the entrance to the tent; Verse 39. the bronze altar with its bronze grating, its poles, and all its utensils; the basin with its stand; Verse 40. the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases; the curtain for the gate of the courtyard, its ropes and tent pegs, and all the equipment for the service of the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting; Verse 41. and the woven garments for ministering in the sanctuary, both the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons to serve as priests. Verse 42. The Israelites had done all the work just as the LORD had commanded Moses. Verse 43. And Moses inspected all the work and saw that they had accomplished it just as the LORD had commanded. So Moses blessed them.

Isaiah 14:3-11
Verse 3. On the day that the LORD gives you rest from your pain and torment, and from the hard labor into which you were forced, Verse 4. you will sing this song of contempt against the king of Babylon: How the oppressor has ceased, and how his fury has ended! Verse 5. The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers. Verse 6. It struck the peoples in anger with unceasing blows; it subdued the nations in rage with relentless persecution. Verse 7. All the earth is at peace and at rest; they break out in song. Verse 8. Even the cypresses and cedars of Lebanon exult over you: “Since you have been laid low, no woodcutter comes against us.” Verse 9. Sheol beneath is eager to meet you upon your arrival. It stirs the spirits of the dead to greet you— all the rulers of the earth. It makes all the kings of the nations rise from their thrones. Verse 10. They will all respond to you, saying, “You too have become weak, as we are; you have become like us!” Verse 11. Your pomp has been brought down to Sheol, along with the music of your harps. Maggots are your bed and worms your blanket.

Matthew 14:1-12
Verse 1. At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the reports about Jesus Verse 2. and said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him.” Verse 3. Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, Verse 4. because John had been telling him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.” Verse 5. Although Herod wanted to kill John, he was afraid of the people, because they regarded John as a prophet. Verse 6. On Herod’s birthday, however, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod Verse 7. so much that he promised with an oath to give to her whatever she asked. Verse 8. Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.” Verse 9. The king was grieved, but because of his oaths and his guests, he ordered that her wish be granted Verse 10. and sent to have John beheaded in the prison. Verse 11. John’s head was brought in on a platter and presented to the girl, who carried it to her mother. Verse 12. Then John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it. And they went and informed Jesus.
